Evaluation of 'Portal'

For my Preliminary project me and two other students had to film a scenario where one member of my group walks through a door, has a couple of lines of dialogue with another member and walks back out.
The requirements for this project were to include:
- Match on action
- Shot reverse shot
- 180 degree rule.
We started out planning what we were going to do my drawing up two storyboards. The first storyboard was with illistrations that were drawn, with captions and the second storyboard was done with photographs that we had taken of one member of the group acting out what we were going to film.
We started the filming the first part of the film with only one of the characters going through a door, looking confused and walking back out into a different setting. We has a shot in this scene when he was looking around, This is where we used the 180 degree rule. We used a lot of over the shoulder shots to get feel of what the character was looking at. The character walks back through the door into a different setting where he notices two chairs, he sits down and this is where he meets the other character. In this scene we used a lot of close ups to show the confusion of the character and a long shot to show the character walking back out.
When we were editing we mae it run smoothly together and cut bits so it looked like he walked through one door and ended up in a different setting. We also put it oriental music to make it seem like that the settings he was ending up in were very different.
What we struggled on was managing our time. We should have got things like our storyboards sorted before we started. We also improvised and shot the last scene without anything to follow and this comes back to the lack of our planning.
